These are the rules. Please follow them! We'd like to make this game as drama-free as possible, and that all hangs on everybody getting along. We're all mature adults here, so let's keep as laid-back and fun as we possibly can.
Activity & Hiatuses
Keeping your characters active is obviously important in a game, so we ask that you post for them at least once (but preferably more) during each activity period. To be counted for activity it can be a journal entry, or it can be a post/thread in either reincarnatecomm, thereincarnates, or reincarnateau (specifically for IC back stories and AU plots). Activity periods generally go for six weeks (which you can always find marked on the calendar). If you fail to meet the above listed requirements during an AC period then your character(s) will be marked inactive and have one additional AC period to get your character(s) active again before he or she is removed from the game. The Activity Check is posted every six weeks on a Sunday, by 12PM (PST).
PBs & Icons
Because of the nature of this game, characters are not allowed to have the same PB as their reincarnates. For example, Luke Skywalker cannot be PB'd by Mark Hamill, but he can be PB'd by Gabriel Macht. You can choose another PB that is within the same fandom. However, you cannot use icons of them from the same source your reincarnate comes from. (Ex. Chris Evans is Captain America. You could use him to play The Hulk, but you can't use icons of Chris Evans from The Avengers or the Captain America solo movies.)
All characters from all fandoms and all mediums are welcome here. However, you are expected to know as much about your character as possible prior to bringing them into the game. Keep up with their fandom and pay attention to any new developments that directly concern them. You should also be logical about what abilities and talents your character will immediately receive from their reincarnate. Don't assume that they're getting everything all at once. Ex.) A new reincarnate of Superman wouldn't automatically be able to fly. Even Superman had to learn that! But they might already have super strength, since that doesn't have to be conditioned. More room for character development is always a plus.
Apping & Dropping
There's no character cap here. As long as you keep active and are honest with yourself about what you can handle, we're not going to put a numerical limit on alts. Likewise, sometimes ideas that sound great in an application don't work out in actual game play, so we're not going to penalize people for the occasional drop. That said, if you can't stay active and you're constantly cycling through characters, don't be surprised if the mods approach you about scaling back.
Journal Etiquette, or IC vs. OOC
Characters are not players and vice versa. A snide, rude, or disagreeing comment on a journal is not necessarily a personal attack on you, the player. Keeping IC and OOC separate is pretty much a rule in all games, and this one is no different. Likewise, if you're angry at a player, don't take it out on them IC (or OOC, obviously, we'd prefer to keep the drama out entirely though we know it does happen). If you're uncomfortable with the level to which something IC has been taken, please deal with this in a productive manner by approaching the player or a mod, we are always happy to mediate a problem.
